“A two-hour detour after work – that’s what Celtic means to me.”
I was happy the day was over. Typically, I love my job as homecare RN with Celtic Healthcare, but today I had a bad migraine and couldn’t wait to get home. That was, until I pulled right behind an accident.
A little old man was sitting on the side of the road, panicked because his very sick wife was at home waiting for him and his groceries were spoiling in his trunk. I saw that his airbag had deployed and that he needed to go to the hospital, due to his age and condition. His car was already up on the truck bed, and he was soon going to be leaving for the hospital.
The tow truck driver wasn’t extremely happy with me, but I asked him to get up on the truck bed and re-bag all the groceries that had scattered around as a result of the accident and give them to me so I could go check on the man’s wife and put away her groceries. The man was in such distress. I knew this would at least make him feel a bit more settled.
I then drove the groceries to the man’s house, found a neighbor to assist her so that the wife would not be startled, and then proceeded to make sure the woman was able to put away the groceries. From start to finish, it added two hours to my drive home.
But you know what, this is what Celtic encourages me to do – to give EXTRA to everyone from my patients to other older individuals in need. Working for an organization that supports and recognizes acts of kindness is so special to me.

“I experienced Celtic’s great reputation firsthand – so I joined them.”
From the time I was 18 until I joined the Celtic team, I worked at an assisted living facility – one where Celtic comes in and performs many homecare tasks. I was there all through my nursing training. There, I really started to understand the elderly population – their gripes, needs, desires. I knew that this was the group of people that I wanted to work with.
I also knew exactly which organization I wanted to work for. While at the assisted living facility, I experienced firsthand what a wonderful organization Celtic Healthcare was – and I knew that I wanted to be a part of it.
Since I’ve joined Celtic, I’ve finally been able to apply what I learned in nursing school, such as not rushing, giving backrubs, and doing whatever I need to make my patient feel better than when I entered their home. Because of Celtic’s use of technology, we have so much more time to spend with our patients. We really give them EXTRA! And as a Hospice RN, there is nothing more important.

Position: Physical Therapist with Celtic Healthcare - Carlisle
Employment with Celtic Healthcare: 5 weeks
“After only two weeks, I made a move for Celtic Healthcare.”
As a new addition to Celtic’s Carlisle team, I wanted to know how I could best serve the company. As it turned out, the best way was to make a short-term move to the Lawrence County region, where therapy services were in great demand. Two weeks after joining Celtic Healthcare, I knew that this was where I wanted to be, so I was happy to move myself (and my dog!) to New Castle for a while.
I may be new to the Celtic team, but I’ve had the opportunity to experience the Celtic spirit in two locations – Carlisle and Lawrence County – and I am very pleased with my experience thus far.
The communication is awesome. The tools, such as email and CIP, are great. And the interdisciplinary communication between the nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and the whole team is really second to none.

I really love working for Celtic. What makes it so special are the people. I have worked with various companies over the years, but none compare to the people at Celtic. From the support at the home office to the clinicians in the field, I believe everyone goes above and beyond.

I started my orientation at Celtic Healthcare this week, and it was such a breath of fresh air! Everyone was so friendly, open, and helpful. The documentation system was easy to learn, and any questions or problems that I had were quickly answered and resolved. Celtic’s IT staff was so willing to help and no question every seemed to be a bother to them. The kindness of the staff and the easy-to-use technology has really made the orientation process a breeze! I can see why Celtic’s clinical staff members have more time to spend with their patients. The support and technology far surpasses others! Thanks for a great week!

I just wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed the orientation process at Celtic Healthcare. It has been such a refreshing change in the sense that I feel like the Celtic staff is truly glad that I am now a fellow employee, and they are interested in getting to know me as a person and co-worker. I feel like I have been equipped with the tools (i.e., computer and phone) to facilitate high productivity in my current position. Celtic's vision and customer service standards are amazing to me in this day and age of healthcare, but it is so refreshing! I look forward to my future years with Celtic!

We frequently refer to our "raving fans" for positive feedback, but I consider myself a "raving employee!” Celtic provides:
-
a positive team environment
-
effective communication
-
flexibility
-
opportunities to learn new knowledge, skills and experiences
-
legendary service that exceeds client's expectations
-
recognition of individual accomplishments
To me, Celtic Healthcare is SECOND TO NONE and when asked " DO YOU TRULY LOVE YOUR JOB?" my answer is an emphatic YES !!!!!
- Maryanne Manning COTA/L, Celtic Rehabilitation Services
I think a few of the reasons that Celtic is a great employer is that you have a voice with Celtic. Suggestions are always taken seriously and considered. Some have prompted a change for the better. Also, the value of the employees by the administration. Arnie, the CEO, is always trying to make Celtic a "best" place to work, from constantly updating the benefits package to updating the IT system to aid the employees.
- Cheri Smith, RN, Nurse Liaison, Celtic Homecare
It has been my pleasure to be an employee of this company for six years. Celtic demonstrates a continuum of quality care for its patients and provides tremendous respect for its employees. I have been trusted to manage the Billing Department under a leadership that shows encouragement, pride and confidence in my work.
