November is…

A Celtic Hug

…National Home Care Month

…National Hospice Month

…National Family Caregivers Month

…and we celebrate Home Care Aide Week from November 9 – 15

November is Celtic Healthcare’s month!  And we’d like to take this opportunity to honor health care administrators, nurses, clinicians, therapists, aides, volunteers, and companions who make a remarkable difference in the lives of their patients and clients.
Every year, the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) develops themes for National Home Care Month and National Hospice Month that exemplify the special relationships that homecare professionals maintain with patients and their family members.

The 2008 themes are:

  •  Home Care: "Preserving Health Independence and Freedom"
  • Home Care Aide: "Honoring Those Who Honor Others"
  • Hospice: "Love In Action"

According to NAHC.org, “The month is celebrated through local and national festivities.  In addition, NAHC member agencies around the country invite local celebrities — from lawmakers to prominent citizens — to visit homebound patients as part of their National Home Care Month and National Hospice Month celebrations.  The second full week in November (November 9 - 15) is marked as an occasion to celebrate the important contribution that home care aides make in providing personal care services to home care patients.”

Join Celtic Healthcare by showing appreciation for the staff and volunteers who make it possible for people to remain independent and comfortable in their own homes.

November is also National Family Caregivers Month, a nationally recognized time every year to thank, support, educate and empower more than 50 million family caregivers across the country currently providing over $350 billion in “free” caregiving services (NAHC Report , Sept. 11).  We salute you!
