FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Karen Sloaf sloafk@celtichealthcare.com 724-742-4360
April 2, 2010 - Mars, PA - Celtic Healthcare today announced that Computer Enterprises, Inc. (CEI), a leading information technology contracting firm, conducted an Application Lifecycle Management Assessment (ALM) of Celtic Healthcare's application development team. CEI has conducted several dozen of these assessments and has seen widely varying results.
As part of the assessment process, all suggested improvements are rated on a matrix as: urgent, improve, enhance, or maintain. "Celtic is the first client we have worked with that did not have anything in the urgent or improve categories. This means that the team is functioning efficiently and making the most of its resources." -Ryan C. Baker, Microsoft Branch Manager
CEI offers IT workforce solutions and specializes in providing the resources to help organizations recognize positive business results and in turn, operate more efficiently. Their Microsoft certified developers provide guidance to organizations in delivering solutions using Microsoft technologies, with emphasis on .NET application development.
At the request of Celtic Healthcare, CEI conducted the ALM assessment focused on evaluating the full application development lifecycle. The following high level categories were included in the assessment: architecture and design, requirements and user experience, software development and coding, software configuration and management, deployment and operations, project planning and management, and testing and quality assurance.
The overall assessment contained two components consisting of an online self-assessment and an on-site assessment. As part of the on-site assessment process, CEI met with members of Celtic's IS team."We interviewed the key members of the development team: Greg Teamann, Andrew Dawson, Aaron Solak, and Jason Senecal," said Ryan Baker, "and we found that for the most part, the team is operating very efficiently given their current size and the number of projects they have to manage." Because of their findings, improvements recommended by CEI were rated as low with respect to overall efficiency gains to the team or the business.
"We are pleased that CEI found our Department to be operating efficiently, meeting Celtic's standard of service excellence." -Andrew Dawson, Celtic Software Engineer
